There is an african proverb which states, “until the lion shares his side of the story, the hunter will always be glorified.”
In the collective consciousness, there is a rift, a fracture, an imbalance in the way stories are shared. Some voices are uplifted and celebrated, while others have been historically, and systemically silenced. Those timelines are over. The new timelines we are moving into allow for the expression of all voices, especially of those whose voices have been suppressed.
Liberation.
Her-story is being made.
In my chapter, I delve into the ways I dimmed my Light for the comfort of others. As a indigenous woman navigating a colonial paradigm.
I’m grateful to be out of that place now. I’m grateful to be in the Light.
